An exciting opportunity has arisen with our Wakefield based client as a Business Development Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing market- leading organisation within the construction sector.

Within this role you will be managing a number of key accounts for the business targeting the Birmingham / M6 Corridor area, with an aim to develop long term relationships with customers. You will need to develop new business opportunities and drive sales through market research, networking events and client meetings before reporting back with clear monthly management reports.

What would a day look like for you?

  • Creating new business opportunities, setting up meetings and developing relationships with new clients
  • Assessing possible framework opportunities
  • Attending relevant networking events
  • Planning and preparing presentations/CPD’s and client seminars to communicate new service lines
  • Collaborate with internal sales executives to find potential target clients and inform the sales teams of new Key accounts, managing an effective handover
  • Keep abreast of industry developments to identify possible opportunities
  • Providing management with feedback, report trends and provide timely call reports.
  • Line manage a telesales advisor to ensure your pipeline is fed

What you will need…

  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal as well as able to write reports
  • Strong IT skills particularly around the Microsoft suite and data analysis
  • A proven track record of bringing in new business
  • An understanding of the construction buying process is preferred.
  • Proven sales track record, either face to face or by telephone
  • Valid driving licence
