Credit Controller Job ref:

Location: Near Pontefract

Our client is a global Manufacturing business who operate in the UK and internationally, they are highly regarded as a major player within their field of expertise along with being a great employer who truly value their people.

They now require someone the join their fast-paced finance team to shape the Credit Control function to improve existing processes and reporting.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • New Customer Account and Depot Account Set-up.
  • Advising on credit applications and analysing all associated risks identified by credit checks.
  • Monitor and amend customer credit limits as required.
  • Update Sales prices on customer accounts.
  • Process POD invoices in a timely manner.
  • Work with Carriage Out suppliers to ensure PODs are provided within 1 week of dispatch.
  • Process POD discrepancies as soon as they are identified.
  • Investigate and resolve Debit notes from customers.
  • Debt management – working with commercial team to maximise debt recovery.
  • Accurate, timely posting of cash and reconciliation duties through effective and proactive use of credit control journal/s and cash postings.
  • To development and then routinely deliver analysis reports regarding debt management to the Financial Controllers and Head of Sales.
  • Prepare and issue recommended standard legal action letters.
  • Proactively and sensitively managed ‘Account On Stop’ processes.
  • Dealing with internal queries about payments.
  • Negotiating customers/clients’ repayment plans where necessary.
  • To undertake any other duties that may be requested from time to time by your manager that you are adequately trained to do.

  • Professional approach to work and open-minded in hearing the ideas of others.
  • Flexible and adaptable to ways of working depending on business need.
  • Time management: able to prioritise what matters the most whilst ensuring that promises made are delivered.
