SHEQ COMPLIANCE MANAGER – MARKET LEADING BUSINESS

We are delighted to be partnering with a leading business who offer a wide range of specialist mechanical and industrial services to the UK energy sector.

As a result of continued growth, they now require a SHEQ Compliance Manager to provide Operational and Legislative Health and Safety expertise to drive industry leading operational safety and compliance.

We are keen to speak with candidates with experience in SHEQ who can self-motivate and prioritise within a complex workload. Candidates must have demonstrable experience working with high-risk environments and activities such as confined spaces, dust, vibration etc. along with the ability to lead on safety related projects.

On offer is a competitive basic salary, 25 hays holiday + bank holidays and a pension scheme along with the use of a pool car for site visits.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Support the SHEQ Manager to maintain the management systems as necessary
  • Carry out site audits and maintain an operational safety presence to monitor compliance and to identify and implement improvements.
  • Drive operational safety culture and offer safety advice.
  • Carry out investigations and drive safety projects to completion.
  • Deliver toolbox talks on key safety topics to operational teams.
  • Attend the H&S committee meeting and drive actions to completion.
  • Gather safety data to feed into the SHEQ report.
  • Drive actions from the SHEQ report to completion to improve safety and compliance.
  • Deputise the SHEQ manager when necessary.
  • Create Safety related content for social media and website
  • Review the industry for best practice and opportunities
  • Carry out control of contractors.

REQUIREMENTS

  • NEBOSH General certificate
  • Experience of maintaining ISO management systems
  • Operational SHEQ experience with the ability to work independently
  • Experience of working with high risk e.g. confined spaces, dust, vibration etc. is essential
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Proficient in the use of MS packages such as word and excel.
  • Full driving license
  • Experience of working in the engineering sector (Desirable)
  • Experience of leading safety related projects
