Life at JS Recruitment

First and foremost, life at JS Recruitment centres on providing the very best service, every day, to our clients and candidates. As a team, we support each other, encourage professional development and enjoy celebrating success!

Day-to-day life here is best described by the people who work at JS Recruitment. We asked Rachael Burgess AIRP to give her take on what it’s really like:

“After graduating from The University of Bristol I worked for an insurance company before moving back up to Pontefract and gaining an administration role with a recruitment company in the centre of Leeds. I started at JS Recruitment as a Recruitment Consultant in October 2017 and I can honestly say that it’s been the best move for me. I’ve learnt an incredible amount and can see myself growing with the company for many years to come.

Like most companies, JS Recruitment has its own set of values, these are extended to their employees as well as candidates and clients. As a family run business, you would expect family values to be at the core of everything we do. I have quickly become a part of this extended work family and in turn we all make sure that we look after each other in the topsy turvy world that is recruitment. Another core value in this office is honesty, whether that’s dealing with colleagues, candidates or clients honesty is always the best policy.

As soon as I joined JS Recruitment they enrolled me as a member of the Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP). This not only means that we are committed to being compliant in all that we do but also that we promote and work to best practice in the recruitment industry.

The training has been structured and planned out week by week with a review at the end of each month. There is a clear goal which we’re all working towards and targets are set accordingly. Monthly and quarterly incentives are in place to keep things fun and competitive (not overly) such as the opportunity to win half day holidays, bottles of champagne, team meals out and vouchers.

Other perks include uncapped commission, generous holiday entitlement and a genuinely supportive team environment. The support provided by Jilly and Sarah has provided me with a confident platform from which I have been able to overcome various obstacles to achieve my goals. The working day is structured which allows for everything to be done without having to work long extended hours. Work life balance is valued and promoted as happy employees are productive and motivated employees; if the company looks after the employees the employees will look after the company.

The office in Pontefract is in a great location as businesses in the 5 towns area are growing at a rapid rate and Wakefield is forecast to be in the top 20 fastest growing cities in 2018 meaning more opportunities for everyone.

Recruitment can be challenging and is at times stressful, however when you have a great team behind you backing you all the way it suddenly doesn’t feel so difficult. Jilly and Sarah are a ‘Sister Act’ but I’ve also been made to feel part of the JS Recruitment ‘Sisterhood’!”
