A Sparkling Afternoon at Darrington Golf Club

On Thursday 19th October our Director Sarah Knight attended a Sparkling Afternoon Tea at Darrington Golf Club, in aid of JS Recruitment’s Charity of the Year, The Prince of Wales Hospice (PWH).

The event was a great success, bringing together family, friends and business partners to enjoy a wonderful afternoon of tea, cake, fizz and entertainment, all whilst raising money for a charity close to our hearts.

The guest speaker, Tricia Stewart, shared her heartfelt and thought-provoking story of how she and her group of friends became the WI Calendar Girls; the inspiration behind the film starring Julie Walters and Helen Mirren, the West End play and most recently Gary Barlow’s musical.

With great wit and comic timing, she took the audience on the Calendar Girls journey. From humble beginnings, an idea conceived in a small village pub in the Yorkshire Dales, to becoming a worldwide phenomenon raising almost 5 million pounds for charity in memory of John Baker.

It was a fabulous afternoon and another great opportunity to raise money for PWH, following Sarah’s participation in the Leeds Half Marathon earlier on in the year.
